Volkswagen Group unveils four world premieres in Beijing

The Volkswagen Group unveiled four world premieres at its Group Media Night on 21 April ahead of Auto China 2026 in Beijing, presenting ten models across the Volkswagen, Jetta and two Audi brands. The event is part of the group’s largest-ever electric vehicle campaign for China, with more than 20 new electrified models set to launch in the market this year.

The premieres included a new ID.UNYX model developed over 24 months with Xpeng, and the first all-electric ID.AURA from FAW-Volkswagen, based on the group’s China Electronic Architecture. Jetta unveiled its first all-electric show car, while AUDI, the group’s China-exclusive brand, debuted the exterior of its E7X, its second production model.

Porsche debuted a new model in the all-electric Cayenne family at the show. The group’s Carizon unit demonstrated Level 2 advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) solutions enabling navigation on autopilot in urban and highway settings, with further development targeting Level 3 and 4 automated driving.

In a statement, Chief Executive Oliver Blume said: “Three years ago, we launched our ‘In China, for China’ strategy to fully tap into the potential of the Chinese innovation market. We decide, we act, we deliver. The new models we are presenting at this year’s ‘Auto China 2026’ impressively confirm that the Volkswagen Group is making good progress on its path to becoming a global tech driver in the automotive industry. China plays a central role in this. Because the progress we achieve here strengthens our competitiveness worldwide.”
