Toyota taps Treehouse to streamline home EV charging

Toyota Motor North America has partnered with Treehouse to simplify home Level 2 charger purchase and installation for Toyota and Lexus EV buyers.

Toyota Motor North America has partnered with Treehouse to manage home Level 2 charger installation for buyers of 2026 and newer Toyota and Lexus BEVs and PHEVs. Treehouse handles the process from virtual scoping and permitting through to installation, targeting upfront quotes within 48 hours and a single home visit for hardware installation.

All 2026 Toyota and Lexus BEVs and PHEVs are supplied with a dual-voltage 120V/240V AC charging cable capable of both Level 1 and Level 2 charging, with a maximum output of 7.7kW. Installing a 240V outlet through Treehouse enables Level 2 charging using the included cable without purchasing additional hardware.

A hardwired ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 charger is also available through Treehouse, claimed to reduce charging time by up to 30%. It is configurable with either an SAE J3400 NACS plug for 2026-onwards BEVs or an SAE J1772 plug for older BEVs and current PHEV models.

Treehouse installations are carried out by licensed electricians vetted by the company. A two-year installation warranty is offered alongside ChargePoint’s three-year hardware warranty, while the included charging cable carries a three-year warranty for Toyota vehicles and four years for Lexus.
