TomTom co-founder Harold Goddijn will step down as Chief Executive Officer at the company’s Annual General Meeting in April
TomTom has announced that co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Harold Goddijn will step down from his role and leave the Management Board at the company’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 16 April 2026. The Supervisory Board has nominated Mike Schoofs, currently Chief Revenue Officer, as his successor following a structured succession process.
Goddijn co-founded TomTom in 1991 and has led the location technology company since 2001. He has been nominated to join the Supervisory Board following the Annual General Meeting.
Schoofs joined TomTom in 2005 and has served as Chief Revenue Officer since 2023, leading the company’s global sales and commercial organisation across automotive, enterprise and platform partner segments.
In a statement, Goddijn said: “Building and leading TomTom has been the privilege of my professional life. The time is right for the next phase of leadership. As the architect of our global commercial organisation, Mike is uniquely positioned to lead the company forward.”
Schoofs added: “TomTom has built a differentiated technology platform and strong customer relationships. My focus will be on disciplined execution, scaling our automotive and enterprise businesses, and delivering long-term value for customers and shareholders.”
Alain De Taeye’s term as a Management Board member will also end at the Annual General Meeting. The Management Board will subsequently comprise Schoofs and Chief Financial Officer Taco Titulaer.
