Pony.ai enters by-invite rides phase in Singapore

Pony.ai has received regulatory approval to begin by-invite rides in Singapore, the final phase before public-facing autonomous mobility services, in collaboration with local transport operator ComfortDelGro. The service operates on a 12-kilometre route in the Punggol district of north-east Singapore, connecting residential areas to retail and transit hubs including Punggol Coast MRT station, with a journey time of approximately 55 minutes.

The approval advances what Pony.ai describes as its dual-engine strategy, through which the company is scaling autonomous mobility operations across both China and international markets. The Singapore programme builds on a memorandum of understanding signed with ComfortDelGro in July 2024 and an autonomous mobility pilot the two companies conducted in Guangzhou in March 2025.

During the by-invite phase, Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro will work with Singapore’s Land Transport Authority to gather rider feedback and refine operations ahead of a broader public launch. The route is expected to offer residents journey time savings of up to 15 minutes compared with existing public transport options.
