Mercedes-Benz CLA earned Euro NCAP’s best performer award for 2025 using Nvidia’s Drive AV software platform
The Mercedes-Benz CLA has been named Euro NCAP’s Best Performer of 2025, with Nvidia crediting its Drive AV software platform and Halos safety architecture for contributing to the vehicle’s top safety rating among the 49 models tested during the year. The recognition reflects growing emphasis on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in safety assessments, with Euro NCAP evaluating both passive protection and active technologies including automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping support and speed assistance.
The CLA uses Nvidia’s dual-stack architecture, which pairs an AI-driven end-to-end driving system with a parallel classical safety stack to provide redundancy across sensing, planning and execution. The vehicle is also built on Nvidia’s Drive Hyperion architecture incorporating sensor diversity and hardware redundancy.
In a statement, Ola Källenius, Chief Executive of Mercedes-Benz Group, said: “This milestone represents the culmination of five years of collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Nvidia to enhance real-world safety and deliver tangible value to customers.”
Nvidia’s DriveOS 6.0 conforms to ISO 26262 Automotive Safety Integrity Level D standards, while TÜV Rheinland has completed an independent United Nations safety assessment of the Drive AV platform. Only vehicles achieving five-star ratings with standard equipment qualify for Euro NCAP’s Best in Class recognition.
