Nissan has received the iF Design Award for the Patrol and Armada, its seventh-generation flagship SUV models. The award is based on evaluation across five areas: idea, form, function, differentiation and sustainability.

The iF Design Award, established in 1954, is sponsored by the iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hannover, Germany. This year, 129 design experts of 21 nationalities judged more than 10,000 works from 68 countries.

The new Patrol and Armada carry over 75 years of legacy as Nissan’s flagship SUV. The automaker says the vehicles blend technology with Japanese heritage, defined by precision, quality and attention to detail. Design features include “Double-C” lighting motifs mirrored in the front headlamps and taillamps, and side vents on the front fenders.

The SUVs feature an eight-seat interior, which Nissan describes as a spacious cabin designed for comfort. The Patrol is sold in markets including the Middle East and Australia, while the Armada is the nameplate used in North America.
