Mitsubishi Motors appoints Kishiura as president and COO

Mitsubishi Motors has appointed Keisuke Kishiura as president and COO, with current chief executive Takao Kato to become chairman

Mitsubishi Motors has appointed Keisuke Kishiura as Representative Executive Officer, President and Chief Operating Officer, effective 1 April, as the automaker restructures its leadership to strengthen its management foundation. Takao Kato, currently President and Chief Executive, will continue as CEO while relinquishing the president title, and is set to become Chairman of the Board following the annual general meeting of shareholders scheduled for June, subject to approval.

The automaker said the changes are intended to revitalise its management structure and clarify executive responsibilities. The company’s nomination committee has also determined three director candidates to be proposed at the AGM, including Kato, Kishiura and outside director Tomofumi Hiraku.

Kishiura joined Mitsubishi Motors in 1993 and has held roles across human resources, corporate social responsibility and EV business development. He has completed overseas assignments in Thailand and the Netherlands, serving at Mitsubishi Motors Europe, and most recently led the America Division as Vice President before becoming Corporate Officer and Division General Manager of Corporate Planning in April 2025.

Both Kato and Kishiura will serve concurrently as executive officers and directors if their appointments are approved at the AGM.
