The electric GLC L is a China-exclusive five- and six-seat SUV, the first all-electric variant of the GLC to reach the market
Mercedes-Benz has staged four product debuts at Auto China 2026 in Beijing, led by the world premiere of the all-new electric GLC L, a China-exclusive long-wheelbase SUV offered in five- and six-seat configurations. The automaker also launched the all-electric CLA 260 L in China and staged market debuts for the new S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

The electric GLC L rides on a 3,027 mm wheelbase, 55 mm longer than the standard model, and features AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering with 4.5 degrees of adjustment. China-specific features include a voice assistant supporting Cantonese and Sichuan dialects.
The all-electric CLA 260 L consumes 11 kW/h per 100 km using a two-speed electric transmission inherited from the Vision EQXX concept. The new S-Class adds a Vision Language Model co-developed with Tsinghua University, using gesture and facial recognition to automate rear-seat cabin settings.

In a statement, Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, said: “Auto China is the ideal stage for Mercedes-Benz to demonstrate our strategic commitment to China with strong product substance.”
Mercedes-Benz’s BBAC plant in Beijing, the automaker’s largest globally, recently produced its six-millionth vehicle. The local 14-model portfolio will expand to 20 by 2027, including seven China-exclusive models, and the Tomorrow XX sustainability programme made its Chinese debut at the show.
