Mercedes-Benz opens orders for electric VLE in Germany

Mercedes-Benz says the VLE 300 electric delivers up to 713 km of WLTP range from a 115 kW/h battery with 800-volt architecture

Mercedes-Benz has opened orders in Germany for the all-electric VLE, which the automaker describes as the start of a new era of grand limousines. The VLE 300 electric launches in two preconfigured variants, with the Advanced Plus Package starting at €82,260 (US$96,776) and an Exclusive version with the Premium Plus Package also available. A standard-equipment five-seat model will follow later this year from €70,464 (US$82,899).

The VLE 300 is powered by a 115 kW/h lithium-ion battery with an 800-volt architecture, delivering up to 713 km of WLTP range. DC charging at up to 300 kW allows up to 355 km of range to be added in 15 minutes. A 400-volt DC converter is available as an option. The vehicle measures 5,309 mm in length and produces 203 kW of output.

Both launch variants include Airmatic air suspension, a panoramic roof and rear-axle steering. Seating configurations span five, six or seven seats, with a remote-controlled seat adjustment system that offers preset layouts for cargo, executive or balanced use. A 4Matic all-wheel drive variant will follow, and in 2027 Mercedes-Benz will add a long-wheelbase version and an 80 kW/h lithium iron phosphate battery option starting at €64,804 (US$76,240).
