McLaren Automotive names Kemal Curic design chief

McLaren Automotive has appointed Kemal Curic as Chief Design Officer, effective April 2026, adding him to the company’s executive leadership team. Curic joins from Ford Motor Company, where he most recently served as Global Design Director for Performance Vehicles.

In his new role, Curic will lead all design functions at McLaren, covering interiors, exteriors, colour, materials and finish (CMF), and digital design. He will work alongside engineering and product strategy teams with a remit to maintain McLaren’s positioning in lightweight, high-performance luxury cars. He brings more than two decades of experience across performance and luxury vehicle design.

In a statement, Curic said: “McLaren is one of the most respected and aspirational brands in the world. I’m excited to be part of their journey to help shape the design vision of a company so deeply rooted in engineering excellence and racing heritage. I look forward to working with the talented teams at McLaren to create the next generation of breathtaking, purpose-driven cars.”
