Maruti Suzuki adds five startups to tech programme

Maruti Suzuki’s latest incubation cohort includes startups working on visual inspection AI and IoT safety wearables

Maruti Suzuki has onboarded five startups from the fourth cohort of its incubation programme to develop technology solutions spanning artificial intelligence-based manufacturing inspection, IoT-enabled workplace safety systems and electric mobility for last-mile logistics. The Maruti Suzuki Incubation Program is run in partnership with NSRCEL, the incubation hub at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.

The selected startups are AugurAI and Indus Vision, which are developing AI-based visual inspection systems for components and finished vehicles respectively; Aatral, working on AI-assisted inspection and 3D digital validation for supplier quality; Zen Mobility, providing electric vehicles for spare parts and accessories delivery; and Proxgy, which offers IoT wearables and AI systems for shopfloor safety monitoring.

In a statement, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and Chief Executive of Maruti Suzuki India, said: “Embedding new age intelligent technologies across business functions is critical to sustaining excellence, navigating complexity, and enabling long-term, agile growth.”

Anand Sri Ganesh, Chief Executive of NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore, added: “Our association is helping bridge the gap between cutting-edge innovation and real-world application by giving our startups access to complex business scenarios and deep industry expertise.”

Maruti Suzuki said it has screened approximately 6,400 startups over seven years across its various innovation programmes, engaging more than 220 and onboarding 32 as partners.
