Marelli will present a unified software-defined cockpit, zonal E/E architecture and 5G RedCap connectivity at Auto China 2026 in Beijing
Marelli will showcase a range of in-cabin technologies at Auto China 2026 in Beijing from 24 April, including a unified software-defined cockpit platform, zonal electrical architecture components and a 5G RedCap connectivity module. The supplier said the technologies are designed to support brand differentiation as vehicle standardisation increases across the industry.

The cockpit platform combines computing, artificial intelligence (AI), graphics and human-machine interface (HMI) functions in a single system built on a QNX real-time operating system architecture. Display technologies on show include an ultrathin MiniLED full array local dimming (FALD) screen and a 44.8-inch HorizonView pillar-to-pillar display capable of up to 12,000 nits brightness. On the architecture side, microcontroller-free door and seat modules shift window, mirror and seat functions including anti-pinch protection to a zone control unit, reducing electronic control unit (ECU) count and wiring complexity.

Marelli’s 5G reduced capability (RedCap) telematics module delivers 50% higher data rates and 2.5 times lower latency than 4G at comparable cost, supporting over-the-air updates, remote diagnostics and dual-frequency satellite positioning.

In a statement, Joachim Fetzer, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Marelli, said: “At Auto China, we will demonstrate how Marelli unifies compute, display, audio, and interior design into a coherent, software-defined experience enabled by deep local engineering and strong partnerships.”
