Kia has received a Good Design Award for its E-Ground experience centre, the automaker’s first such facility in Latin America
Kia has received a Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design for E-Ground, the automaker’s first sustainable mobility experience centre in Latin America. The 1,400 square metre facility in Quito, Ecuador features three interactive zones covering environmental awareness, electrification technologies and Kia’s electric and purpose-built vehicles.

The centre incorporates materials including concrete with reduced carbon emissions and kinetic floor tiles that generate energy from footsteps, alongside solar panels and rainwater reuse systems. Its location near major universities is intended to support educational programmes focused on electrification.

In a statement, Steve Lee, President of Kia Central and South America, said: “This project symbolizes progress, innovation, and our commitment to advancing sustainable mobility. Kia E-Ground will help shape the future of transportation in Latin America.”
Fiorella Farje, Head of Marketing for Kia Central and South America, added: “This project reflects Kia’s vision of sustainable mobility and our commitment to creating meaningful experiences for communities in Latin America.”
The Good Design Award programme was established in 1950.
