Hyundai Motor has launched the Ioniq brand in China, with the Venus and Earth concept cars debuting ahead of Auto China 2026
Hyundai Motor has officially launched the Ioniq all-electric brand in China, unveiling two concept cars in Beijing ahead of Auto China 2026 on 24 April. The Venus concept sedan and Earth concept SUV serve as design previews for upcoming production models, with future Ioniq vehicles in China to carry planet-themed names.
The Venus concept features a single-curve silhouette finished in a shade called Radiant Gold, with a framed roof and transparent spoiler; its interior uses layered mood lighting and a contrast of suede and chrome-gold seat covers. The Earth concept SUV is finished in Aurora Shield, combining sculpted bodywork with skid plates, air-hug seats and mood lighting designed to mimic tree shadows.

Hyundai Motor said the Ioniq brand in China will expand beyond a product range into a wider mobility ecosystem, incorporating locally developed autonomous driving systems and extended range electric vehicles (EREVs).
In a statement, Li Fenggang, President at Beijing Hyundai Motor Company, said: “Starting with the two concept cars unveiled today, we will continue to present products that reflect deep insight into Chinese customers and our genuine commitment to this market. Built on Ioniq’s uncompromising principles of world-class safety and quality, we will soon introduce production models that seamlessly combine the smart driving and smart cabin experiences that Chinese consumers demand.”
Further details will follow at Hyundai Motor’s Auto China 2026 press conference on 24 April in Beijing.
