Austrian logistics firm Gebrüder Weiss has put 14 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 e-trucks into service in Austria since late 2025

Austrian logistics firm Gebrüder Weiss has put 14 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 electric trucks into service across five sites in Austria, with deployment running since late 2025. The fleet handles regional, scheduled line-haul and long-distance work from the Lauterach headquarters and depots in Vienna, Pöchlarn, Wels and Hall in Tyrol.

The Vorarlberg-based trucks operate day-and-night shifts on routes within Austria and cross-border runs to Switzerland and Germany, including line-haul services to Hall in Tyrol and Freiburg im Breisgau. Trucks recharge during loading and unloading windows, avoiding extra downtime.

Gebrüder Weiss plans to grow its Austrian eActros fleet to 25 trucks by end-2026. The expansion sits on the company’s own charging and energy infrastructure at several Austrian and southern German sites, with electricity from on-site photovoltaic systems or certified renewable supply.

Private charging is the answer to patchy public e-truck infrastructure in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Gebrüder Weiss said the eActros 600 was the first electric truck to meet its network range requirements, with Daimler Truck’s Europe-wide service network a deciding factor.

Stefan Oberhauser, Branch Manager Land & Logistics Vorarlberg at Gebrüder Weiss, said e-mobility required a different operating mindset, with clean load management and charging-aware dispatch. Jens Tittel, Managing Director of Daimler Truck Austria, called the eActros 600 a game changer for long-haul work.
