GAC Energy operated 23,274 self-operated charging piles across 31 provinces and 211 cities in China by the end of 2025
GAC Energy has released its 2025 Ecological Service Report, revealing that the company operated 23,274 self-operated charging piles across 31 provinces and 211 cities in China by the end of 2025, including 17,577 direct current (DC) piles and 1,956 charging stations. The network served 8.92 million users and delivered 1.43 billion kWh of electricity over the year, with the company reporting that it has achieved industry leadership in the deployment of 1,000V high-voltage fast-charging infrastructure across the country.
The report forms part of GAC Group’s “2⁶ Energy Action” strategy, a plan to develop a vertically integrated new energy vehicle industry chain. GAC Energy said its ultra-fast charging piles were upgraded to 640 kW during 2025, with individual charging gun capability reaching 720 kW and 800 A.
In May 2025, the company introduced an AI-powered cloud platform for real-time control and automated operation of charging facilities, raising equipment availability to 99.2%. By November, the network covered China’s major cities and main travel corridors, with more than 1,800 self-operated stations deployed.
GAC Energy also reported progress in vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, completing what it described as China’s first private car owner V2G discharge order in August 2025. By the end of the year, national V2G discharge exceeded 1.35 million kWh.
