At Chinaplas 2026, Evonik will showcase high-performance polymers for new energy vehicle thermal management and electric drivetrain applications
Evonik will present high-performance polymers for electric vehicle (EV) battery management and drivetrain applications at Chinaplas 2026, held in Shanghai from 21 to 24 April. The German chemicals company is exhibiting at Hall 7.2-C31, with automotive content centred on thermal management and electric motor solutions for China’s new energy vehicle sector.
The company will display its Vestamid PA12 materials, used in battery cooling lines, busbars and energy storage systems for their chemical resistance and high-temperature performance. Evonik said the material also supports data-centre cooling infrastructure.
For drivetrain applications, Evonik will showcase Vestakeep PEEK components including gears for automotive transmission systems. The company’s PEEK Rectangular Magnet Wire Lab, located at its Shanghai Innovation Park, is focused on research and development for EV motor applications and lightweight solutions, and will feature in the exhibit.
Evonik said it doubled its long-chain polyamide capacity in Asia following the successful trial production start of its PA12 polymerisation reactor in Shanghai at the end of 2025.
In a statement, Xia Fuliang, President of Evonik Greater China, said: “Material innovation is the core driving force for industrial development and sustainable transformation. Evonik is committed to breaking the boundaries of material science through cross-industry collaboration and local R&D investment, creating more possibilities for future industrial development.”
