Emobi has raised US$3.4m in seed funding to scale JustPlug, its cloud-based plug-and-charge solution for electric vehicle charging
Emobi has raised US$3.4m in seed funding to scale its JustPlug technology, a cloud-based plug-and-charge solution that enables automated electric vehicle charging without apps, cards, or additional hardware. The round was led by Florida Funders, with participation from Y Combinator, Collaborative Fund, Goodwater Capital, and other existing investors.
The company said JustPlug addresses a gap in the market where approximately 80% of existing chargers and vehicles lack the hardware and firmware to support traditional plug-and-charge functionality. The system uses ISO 15118 digital certificate infrastructure for authentication and AI-powered identification to extend plug-and-charge capability to both modern and legacy infrastructure.
Emobi is running pilot programmes with three of the ten largest EV automakers in North America to test and implement JustPlug ahead of commercial rollouts. The company has also announced partnerships with Flipturn, ElectricFish, and Curo to deploy the technology across public, fleet, and customer-managed charging environments.
In a statement, Lin Sun Fa, Chief Executive at Emobi, said: “We’re not waiting for another round of network upgrades or regulatory alignment—JustPlug breaks that stalemate. It’s the first solution that cuts through the fragmentation and gives power back to the people who actually drive EVs.”
Emobi’s charging ecosystem currently spans more than 140,000 ports across 28 networks in North America.
