Dobbe Transport expands electric fleet with eActros 600

The eActros 600 gives Dobbe Transport its first electric truck capable of full long-haul operations without restriction across the Benelux

Dutch logistics firm Dobbe Transport has taken delivery of its first Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, marking its entry into battery-electric long-haul transport after earlier experience with a first-generation eActros 300. The family-owned company, based in Roelofarendsveen, has already ordered two additional eActros 600 tractor units and plans to commission a charging facility capable of serving eight e-trucks simultaneously, with scope to expand to 16 vehicles.

The e-truck is configured as a 6×2 flatbed with a steered tag axle, maximising payload capacity and operational flexibility for general cargo transport across the Benelux countries. The setup allows use with central-axle, drawbar and double-deck trailers, and the vehicle is expected to cover around 125,000 kilometres per year. Dobbe Transport is also evaluating electric operations on routes to France and Germany.

The eActros 600 carries three lithium-iron-phosphate battery packs with a total installed capacity of 621 kW/h, enabling a range of up to 500 kilometres at a 40-tonne gross combination mass. Mercedes-Benz Trucks launched the model in series production at its Wörth am Rhein plant in November 2024, and the vehicle was named International Truck of the Year 2025.

“With this investment, we are responding to road tolls and, in the future, to the European emissions trading system for road transport that will apply from 2027,” said Eric Dobbe, Managing Director of Dobbe Transport. “Mercedes-Benz Trucks offers a mature concept with this vehicle, which has proven to be reliable, and in which we place great trust.”
