Daimler Buses unveils NMC4 eCitaro ahead of mobility move

Daimler Buses will present an eCitaro fitted with the new fourth-generation NMC4 battery at mobility move 2026 in Berlin in March.

Daimler Buses will present a Mercedes-Benz eCitaro fitted with the new fourth-generation NMC4 battery at mobility move 2026, running from 10 to 12 March in Berlin. The NMC4 battery enters production this year across the eCitaro, eCitaro K, and articulated eCitaro G.

The NMC4 delivers 111 kWh per pack against the 98 kWh of the outgoing NMC3, a 13% increase in energy density within the same installation footprint. Maximum battery configurations reach 666 kWh for the solo bus and eCitaro K, and 777 kWh for the eCitaro G, enabling ranges of up to 600 km and 450 km respectively. The packs are fully compatible with existing eCitaro vehicles and can be retrofitted if replacement is required.

Service life is guaranteed at 10 years, with optional coverage of up to 15 years. The NMC4 maintains longevity under both standard charging at up to 150 kW and fast-charging at up to 300 kW. Battery monitoring now continues in standby mode, with an automatic alert system triggering calls to designated contacts when a critical event is detected.

Also on show at mobility move will be Omniplus CHARGE, which covers consulting, planning, construction, and servicing of charging and hydrogen infrastructure. New to the portfolio is a Charging-as-a-Service option under which Daimler Buses builds and operates depot charging infrastructure on a monthly billing basis.
