Archer’s Bristol hub will focus initially on uncrewed vehicle programmes developed in collaboration with Anduril UK and GKN
Electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) company Archer has selected Bristol as the location for its UK engineering hub, supporting advanced programmes across its commercial and defence divisions. The announcement follows Archer’s initial disclosure of the hub in December 2025, since when the company has received hundreds of applications and begun hiring engineers.

The Bristol hub will support Archer’s local collaboration with Anduril UK and GKN, initially focused on uncrewed vehicle programmes in the UK. Archer’s defence work is anchored by a strategic partnership with Anduril, which selected the company as its exclusive partner to develop a hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft for US and allied defence applications.
In a statement, Adam Goldstein, Chief Executive and founder of Archer, said: “We want to hire the best engineers the UK has to offer. Bristol has a strong industrial base and a deep talent pool that makes that possible. This market is a big area of focus for us moving forward and our UK hub will be our home base.”
