The EU is reportedly close to a significant trade deal with India, but ACEA has cautioned against hasty decision making. By Will Girling
The EU is on the cusp of securing “the mother of all deals” with India, according to statements made by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the World Economic Forum in Davos. In a 22 January 2026 statement, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) broadly supported the advantages this could present for the industry, though it cautioned the bloc against “conclud[ing] a deal at any price”.
