The new ID. Polo will be offered in three motor variants and two battery sizes, with WLTP range of up to 454 km on the top spec

Volkswagen has revealed the ID. Polo, an all-electric small car set to enter the European market this summer with a starting price of €24,995 (about US$27,000) in Germany. The Wolfsburg-built model offers a WLTP range of up to 454 km in its top variant and is the first production car to follow the German automaker’s new Pure Positive design language.

The ID. Polo will be offered with three power outputs of 85 kW, 99 kW and 155 kW, paired with two new high-voltage batteries on Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform. The lower outputs use a 37 kW/h LFP battery for a 329 km range, while the 155 kW version takes a 52 kW/h NMC pack for the 454 km figure, with both versions charging from 10% to 80% in around 24 minutes on DC.

The five-seat hatchback is 4,053 mm long, with a 2,600 mm wheelbase and 441 litres of boot space, a 25% increase over the petrol-engined Polo. Standard equipment includes a 10-inch Digital Cockpit, a 13-inch Innovision infotainment touchscreen and one-pedal driving, with optional Connected Travel Assist supporting traffic light recognition.

Pre-sales open immediately in Germany at €33,795 for the launch ID. Polo Life with the 155 kW motor and 52 kW/h battery, with the entry-level version and other variants due in the summer.
