Cars.com AI video tool claims 47% lift in influenced sales

A new Cars.com AI video solution automatically converts dealer inventory into video ads, with early campaigns claiming significant gains in sales and foot traffic.

Cars.com has launched an AI-powered video advertising solution that automatically generates vehicle-specific video ads from dealer inventory feeds. The product, piloted at the NADA Show earlier this year, ran its first live campaign in March and has since served nearly 10,000 unique video assets in a 30-day period.

Early results from the pilot claim a 47% increase in influenced vehicle sales, a 45% rise in influenced dealership foot traffic, and a 35% increase in dealership website visitors. Cars.com said the figures are derived from closed-loop attribution linking video exposure to lot visits and sales.

The tool pulls vehicle data including price, mileage, and specifications to generate 3D renderings, distributing the resulting videos across TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Ads are targeted using Cars.com’s first-party shopper behaviour data and are automatically withdrawn when a vehicle sells.
