Audi ends Q2 production at Ingolstadt this month after 887,231 units, with Q3 integrated production following from mid-2026
Audi will start producing the Q3 at its Ingolstadt plant from mid-2026 in an integrated set-up with Audi Hungaria in Győr, Hungary, while preparing the site for the launch of the fully electric A2 e-tron later this year. Production of the Q2 at Ingolstadt ends in April after 887,231 units since 2016.
Under the integrated arrangement, Q3 bodies for the additional Ingolstadt volume will be built in Győr and transported by rail to Ingolstadt for paint and assembly. Audi said the split-site model allows it to meet demand for SUVs while balancing capacity utilisation at both plants, and forms a core element of an agreement for the future signed in March 2025.

Ingolstadt will continue to produce the A3 and the Q3 alongside earlier electric model launches, the Q6 e-tron in 2023 and the A6 e-tron in 2024. Production of the A2 e-tron is scheduled to begin at the main plant this autumn.
In a statement, Siegfried Schmidtner, Ingolstadt plant manager, said: “The teams at the Ingolstadt plant have passionately driven the success of the Audi Q2. Working closely with Győr, we are turning a new page and will begin the integrated production of the Audi Q3 in mid-2026.”
At Audi’s second German site in Neckarsulm, the automaker is close to completing the largest ramp-up in the plant’s history with the revamped A5 and A6 model families. Production of the A1 at Martorell in Spain is also winding down, with 1,389,658 units delivered since 2010.
