Hyundai Mobis has developed a validation system that runs 10,000 hours of SDV and autonomous driving tests in a single week
Hyundai Mobis has developed a data-driven validation system that compresses thousands of hours of autonomous driving and ADAS software testing by linking real-world road data with parallel simulators connected directly to electronic control units (ECUs). The supplier said the platform will eventually scale to 60 connected simulators, enabling 10,000 hours of evaluation work to be completed in a single week.

Global automakers are increasingly requiring suppliers to provide tens of thousands of hours of data-based validation before approving core software-defined vehicle (SDV) components, a process that traditionally demands years of on-road test driving. The Hyundai Mobis platform integrates sensor data from test vehicles with simulator environments to replicate conditions that are difficult to reproduce physically, including night driving, rain and unexpected incidents.
By blending real-world and virtual data, the supplier said it can comprehensively assess the recognition performance and stability of autonomous driving and ADAS systems covering radar, cameras, LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors and associated ECUs.

Ko Bongchul, Chief of Automotive Electronics R&D, Hyundai Mobis, said: “In the era of SDVs and autonomous driving, evaluation and validation are just as critical as technology development. We expect that establishing this evaluation and validation system will simultaneously expand the speed and scope of validation, thereby significantly boosting our competitiveness in securing orders for core SDV components.”
Hyundai Mobis plans to extend the system through further data integration with major global research hubs.
