Traton and Applied Intuition have launched Traton One OS, a unified software platform for all four Traton commercial vehicle brands
The Traton Group and Applied Intuition have announced Traton One OS, a unified software-defined vehicle platform that will underpin all new trucks across Traton’s four brands: Scania, MAN, International and Volkswagen Truck & Bus. The platform, co-developed over more than a year, will run on high-performance computers across Traton’s new vehicle architecture, with testing of the first integrated electronic control unit hardware beginning in April 2026 and rollout across new trucks targeted for 2028.
Traton One OS is built on a white-box modular architecture combining Traton’s internal software development with Applied Intuition’s Vehicle OS for trucking and open-source components. The platform supports multiple hardware chipsets and regulatory environments, enabling over-the-air updates for new features and full cabin interface upgrades throughout a vehicle’s operational life. Its adaptive middleware is also designed to serve as a foundation for future autonomous driving systems.

In a statement, Stefan Teuchert, Senior Vice President EE Platform at Traton Group, said: “With Traton One OS, we combine strong building blocks from Applied Intuition, Traton and the open source community to create a worldwide EE platform, delivering fast new functions and services to the customer, while still preserving what makes each of our brands unique.” Qasar Younis, co-founder and Chief Executive of Applied Intuition, added: “Traton One OS creates a platform that allows commercial vehicles to continuously evolve through software updates while giving Traton the flexibility to build and scale capabilities across its global brands.”
The modular design allows compute units to be replaced or consolidated over time without fragmenting the software stack, supporting Traton’s long-term move toward fewer, more powerful high-performance computers.
