Kapsch TrafficCom is integrating TomTom’s floating car data into EcoTrafiX to give road authorities real-time traffic intelligence
Kapsch TrafficCom has selected TomTom Traffic to power its EcoTrafiX platform, integrating real-time floating car data (FCD) and traffic services into the company’s end-to-end traffic management system. The partnership gives cities and road authorities access to live traffic flow, incident data, congestion patterns, travel times and multimodal movement information without the need for additional hardware or project-by-project customisation.
EcoTrafiX is used by public authorities and road operators worldwide. By embedding TomTom’s FCD directly into the platform, Kapsch TrafficCom says operators can act on richer, more precise traffic intelligence, reducing deployment complexity and accelerating implementation timelines.

In a statement, Samuel Kapsch, Chief Operating Officer of Kapsch TrafficCom, said: “Data is making a real difference in combatting congestion, because it allows cities to better understand the impact of their actions on their mobility ecosystem. With this partnership, we are giving them real-time insights into their streets so they can ensure that mobility is accessible to everyone.”
Mike Schoofs, Chief Revenue Officer of TomTom, added: “By combining our traffic intelligence with Kapsch TrafficCom’s platform, we enable cities and road authorities to make faster, smarter, and more sustainable decisions.”
Kapsch TrafficCom will demonstrate the enhanced EcoTrafiX platform, including TomTom-powered live traffic and analytics services, at Intertraffic 2026.
