Volvo EX30 gains entry-level powertrain, V2L feature

Volvo is adding a new 110 kW powertrain and vehicle-to-load capability to the EX30 for the upcoming model year

Volvo Cars has announced updates to the EX30 for the upcoming model year, including a new entry-level powertrain, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, and revised interior options. The automaker is also expanding the EX30 Cross Country range with a Plus trim level and a single-motor variant.

The new powertrain delivers 110 kW (150 PS) with a 51 kW/h battery and a range of 339 km. Customers can alternatively specify a 69 kW/h battery offering up to 476 km of range. V2L functionality allows the vehicle to supply power to external devices such as electric bicycles or camping equipment via an adapter.

Volvo is introducing two interior options: ‘Harvest’, featuring light-coloured recycled textile upholstery, and ‘Black’, with dark Nordico upholstery. The EX30 Black Edition is now available with the new Black interior in three exterior colours.

A software update will introduce a redesigned settings and controls system with a customisable content bar. Volvo says V2L and the new user experience will be delivered via over-the-air updates during summer to new and existing EX30 customers.

Alexander Petrofski, Product Line Owner 30/40 at Volvo Cars, said: “By enhancing the user experience, introducing new premium interior options and adding smart technology like the possibility to transform the car into a powerbank for charging other electrical devices, we’re making everyday life easier and more enjoyable.”
