Vector is investing in scalable platform solutions and development tools to address software-defined vehicle demands
Vector is investing in artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and code-centric software development as part of a strategic repositioning from an embedded software specialist to a provider of integrated software ecosystem solutions, with plans to expand beyond automotive into sectors including medical technology, aerospace and industrial IoT. The company said more than 90% of its development activities are located in Germany.
Vector said the investments are a response to increasing global competition and the shift towards software-centric business models, with the company focusing on scalable platform solutions and development tools designed to connect heterogeneous systems, reduce complexity and improve efficiency.
In a statement, Thomas Beck, Managing Director at Vector, said: “Software development is increasingly shaped by integrated software ecosystems. We are driving Vector forward in precisely this direction—focusing on an end-to-end, modular, and scalable software platform, as well as a software factory and the right development tools.”
Matthias Traub, also Managing Director at Vector, added: “With targeted investments in cloud technologies, AI, and code-centric software development, we are laying the foundation for delivering state-of-the-art solutions for the development of complex, software-defined systems.”
Vector said it is already collaborating with OEMs and industry partners to bring new solutions to market, with a focus on accelerating development and integration of software-defined systems.
