Euro NCAP has published its latest truck safety ratings, with the Scania L-series and Volvo FH both achieving five-star results and the CitySafe seal of approval, while the Ford F-Max earned three stars and the Iveco S-Way received two stars. The Scania L-series, tested as an electric 6×2 rigid with refuse compactor body, scored 87% for safe driving and 92% for crash avoidance, with Euro NCAP highlighting its low-mounted cab design and camera monitoring systems.

The Volvo FH, tested as both tractor and rigid in the fleet long-haul category, scored 77% for safe driving and 85% for crash avoidance. Volvo now has three five-star models following previous ratings for the FM and FH Aero.

The Ford F-Max, a relatively new entrant to the heavy goods vehicle market, was tested as a 4×2 tractor unit. Euro NCAP noted that additional technology such as autonomous emergency braking for nearside turning collisions would improve its rating.

The Iveco S-Way improved from a previous one-star rating to two stars following updates that brought the vehicle into compliance with General Safety Regulation 2 requirements. However, Euro NCAP said there remains room for improvement in protecting pedestrians and cyclists.
