Loop Global launches offline EV charging technology

Loop Global has launched Infinity Link, a technology enabling EV charging to operate without network connectivity

Loop Global has launched Infinity Link, a technology that enables electric vehicle charging to operate without network connectivity, allowing drivers to initiate charging sessions via the company’s mobile app even when the charger or their phone has no signal. The US-based charging solutions provider said the system can be enabled on most existing chargers on its network without any retrofit required.

The technology targets environments such as underground garages, remote rural areas and high-density urban settings where connectivity is limited or unreliable. Site hosts retain access to live monitoring of offline chargers through Loop’s customer portal.

“We built a system that just works, whether you’re in an underground garage, a remote rural area, a high-density urban setting with patchy connectivity, or experience an unexpected network outage,” Chief Executive Olga Shevorenkova said.

Los Angeles-based real estate development group MAC Partners has deployed Infinity Link at one of its buildings. “The system helps ensure reliable access to EV charging even when cellular signal is limited, which is increasingly important for tenants,” Director Brian Nathan said.
