The 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport has gone on sale in Japan with a range of GR Parts, but they won’t be coming here.
The GR Sport (Gazoo Racing Sport) has been confirmed for Australia as part of the new-generation RAV4 lineup, with the core model range landing here in the first half of 2026 to take on the Mazda CX-5 and Mitsubishi Outlander.
It’s the first time the GR Sport model grade has been offered on a RAV4, Australia’s best-selling SUV in 2025.
The Toyota Japan catalogue includes ‘GR Parts [for] GR Sport’, with Gazoo Racing the brand’s global performance arm – and one of five core brands alongside Lexus, Century, Daihatsu and Toyota itself in a new strategy announced in late 2025.
However, Toyota Australia told CarExpert there are currently no plans to offer GR Parts for the RAV4, though there’s a range of other accessories available locally for the popular SUV.

RAV4 GR Parts include 20-inch by 7.5-inch-wide aluminium alloy wheels, priced at the equivalent of $2600, offering a different look to the 20-inch black alloys fitted as standard to Australian models.
They use the same 235/50 tyres, which give the local GR Sport a 20mm track increase over lower-spec model grades.
A chunkier front bumper with a larger grille, described as 32mm bigger than standard, is also offered in gloss black and gunmetal finishes to contrast with the GR Sport’s Feverish Red hero colour.
The parts also include a more aggressive rear bumper, also in gloss black and gunmetal, which sits 9mm lower than the standard rear bar, while the chunkier front and rear addenda can be linked with side skirts sitting 22mm lower than standard.
Costing around $2500, they complement the standard roof-mounted spoiler on the Australian RAV4 GR Sport.
There’s also a smoked GR Sport side visor stretching from the front to rear passenger-side windows.
The biggest mechanical upgrade in the catalogue is a GR Performance damper, priced at around $700, which Toyota says is designed specifically for the GR Sport.
Toyota says it offers greater stiffness for improved stability and handling and is designed for the rear suspension.
That means it should be tuned to work with the GR Sport-specific front dampers, unique steering calibration and rear suspension brace already fitted as standard.
There are no cabin upgrades, with standard gear for Australia including sports seats trimmed in Brannove synthetic leather with GR Sport logos, aluminium pedals and GR Sport door-sill scuff plates.
The range-topping GR Sport will be priced at $66,340 before on-road costs in Australia, making it the most expensive RAV4 yet despite price increases across the lineup.
While most model grades will run a carryover hybrid (non-plug-in) powertrain, the GR Sport will use a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) set-up (also offered on the XSE model grade) when it arrives sometime between July and September.
The Australian-market RAV4 GR Sport will be four-wheel drive only at launch, using a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) for a combined 227kW output.
A 22.7kWh lithium-ion battery enables a claimed 100km (WLTP) range under electric power, with fast charging at up to 50kW for a 10-80 per cent recharge in 30 minutes.
The RAV4 XSE, the only other model grade offering the PHEV powertrain, will be available in a choice of front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
