Einride has appointed retired US General Keith Alexander to its Board of Directors as it scales a dedicated defence business

Einride has appointed retired US General Keith Alexander to its Board of Directors as the Swedish autonomous freight firm establishes a dedicated defence business. The move follows Einride’s first pilot contracts with a European NATO-allied defence organisation, with the company now scaling toward full programmes.
Alexander is a current Amazon Board member and previously served as a four-star general, longest-serving director of the US National Security Agency and founding commander of US Cyber Command. He later founded cybersecurity firm IronNet as Chief Executive and Chairman. His appointment is positioned to help Einride meet procurement standards required by NATO-allied and US defence organisations.
The firm is recruiting specialised talent and building defence-specific capabilities around the Einride Driver, a vehicle-agnostic autonomous system that can be fitted to new platforms or retrofitted to existing fleets. Einride also runs a Freight-Capacity-as-a-Service model combining autonomous and electric trucks with AI optimisation software and charging infrastructure.

Roozbeh Charli, Chief Executive, Einride, said: “Having validated our technology in a defense context, we’re now moving with intent: recruiting specialized talent, developing defense-specific expertise, and bringing in leadership with deep domain knowledge. Appointing General Alexander to our Board of Directors is one concrete example of that, his experience directly strengthening our strategic direction in this space.”
Einride serves more than 30 enterprise customers across seven countries, with around US$92m in expected annual recurring revenue from signed contracts. The firm is advancing toward a public listing via a merger with Legato Merger Corp. III in the first half of 2026.
