XCharge opens first European assembly plant in Spain

XCharge has opened a 3,000m² assembly facility in Silla, Valencia, to produce high-power EV charging hardware for global markets

XCharge has opened its first European assembly facility in Silla, Valencia, Spain, a nearly 3,000m² plant that will serve as a primary assembly and testing centre for the company’s high-power EV charging hardware. The site is intended to diversify its global supply chain and support research and development of grid-independent charging technology.

The Valencia plant will assemble products currently active in the North American market, including the C7 charger, which delivers up to 400kW at a maximum 600A and is deployed by Cellerate Power for fast-charging infrastructure in Vermont. Also in production is GridLink, a battery-integrated solution that supplies nearly 200kW of output from 44kW of grid input. XCharge says GridLink will be deployed later this year at one of the largest battery-backed DC fast-charging depots in the US.

The opening ceremony was attended by regional and national government representatives from Spain and the Valencia region, reflecting the plant’s positioning within broader reindustrialisation and decarbonisation initiatives.

In a statement, Aatish Patel, President and Co-founder of XCharge North America, said: “The new Silla plant represents a major step forward in XCharge’s expansion in Spain and reinforces our commitment to a more efficient and sustainable European supply chain. Europe is central to that vision and stands as a cornerstone of our global business and of a cleaner, more resilient energy future.”
