Toyoda Gosei has achieved capability Level 2 under the Automotive SPICE international assessment standard for automotive software development quality, certified by third-party body SGS Japan. Automotive SPICE, a registered trademark of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (Verband der Automobilindustrie), provides a framework for assessing the maturity and quality of software development processes in the automotive sector. Capability Level 2 indicates that processes are performed with appropriate planning, monitoring and control.

The certification reflects Toyoda Gosei’s broader effort to build software development capability alongside its established rubber and plastics product base. As vehicle architectures shift toward software-defined vehicles (SDVs), the supplier has been integrating electronic components into its core product lines and formalising the processes that underpin that development work.
