March 2026 was a record month for Brazil’s light vehicle industry, but it’s uncertain how sustainable the growth might prove to be. By Will Girling
Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) were up 17.2% and 6.2% year-on-year in Q1 2026, according to data from the Brazilian Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (ANFAVEA). In both instances this was due to “exceptional” sales and production growth in March, which more than offset lacklustre performance during the first two months.
