Valeo has opened a surround-view camera production line at its Sanand facility in India, targeting ADAS and ARAS supply to local OEMs
Valeo has inaugurated a new high-definition surround-view camera production line at its Sanand facility in Gujarat, India, targeting high-volume supply of vision systems to Indian OEMs. The line, opened on 3 April, forms part of a broader expansion that will see the Sanand site develop into a multi-technology hub covering advanced automotive displays and telematics control units.
The facility will manufacture components for both advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and advanced rider assistance systems (ARAS), with software development handled at Valeo’s research and development centre in Chennai. The Sanand expansion is part of Valeo’s Elevate 2028 strategic plan, under which India has been identified as a priority market.
Marc Vrecko, Chief Executive Officer of Valeo’s Brain Division, said: “By localising the production of these highly complex, advanced vision systems, we are not only streamlining our supply chain but also accelerating the delivery of world-class safety technologies to our partners.”
Jayakumar G, Group President and Managing Director of Valeo India, added: “This investment in a surround-view camera line underscores our commitment to localising high-tech solutions. It strengthens our ADAS manufacturing capabilities and R&D and ensures we continue to meet our customers’ evolving needs.”
