Honda will open pre-orders for the Super-ONE compact EV in Japan on 16 April, with sales beginning in late May 2026
Honda Motor will begin accepting pre-orders for its Super-ONE compact electric vehicle (EV) in Japan on 16 April 2026, ahead of a late-May market launch. The A-segment model weighs 1,090 kg and offers a 274 km range under worldwide harmonised light vehicle test conditions, placing it among the lightest passenger EVs in the Japanese market.

The Super-ONE is built on an adapted version of Honda’s N Series lightweight platform, with a widened tread and a thin battery mounted under the floor to lower the centre of gravity. A dedicated BOOST Mode increases maximum power output from 47 kW to 70 kW, synchronising with a simulated seven-speed transmission and an Active Sound Control system to replicate gearshift feel and engine sound from conventional vehicles.
Five exterior colours are available, including Boost Violet Pearl, a deep purple shade developed for the Super-ONE. An eight-speaker Bose Premium Sound System is fitted as standard, making the Super-ONE the first Honda compact model in Japan to feature Bose audio.

The vehicle will be displayed at Honda’s stand at the Automobile Council 2026 at Makuhari Messe from 10 to 12 April, with pre-orders opening on 16 April at Honda Cars dealerships nationwide.
