Stellantis is recalling 11,767 vehicles due to a potential issue with the liftgate hinge cover that could increase the risk of a collision, according to a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall impacts certain 2024–2026 Jeep Wagoneer S models. The agency said the liftgate hinge cover may not be properly clipped into position and could detach from the vehicle.

The safety report noted that there are no formal warning indicators associated with the issue. However, drivers may hear a rattling noise while driving or notice that one or both hinge covers are not fully seated.

The recall has been assigned the number 26D.

Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed May 1. Customers are advised to take their vehicles to a dealership, where the hinge cover will be inspected and repaired or replaced if necessary at no cost.
