Hyundai deploys Idemia’s eSIM across global fleet

Idemia Secure Transactions (IST) is providing Hyundai Motor Group with its eSIM technology and Connectivity Manager platform for connected vehicle deployment across Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis models. Rollout began in 2025, starting in the Middle East.

The eSIM removes the need for region-specific SIM variants, simplifying supply chain logistics across markets. IST’s Connectivity Manager allows operators to switch mobile network providers dynamically, optimising costs and coverage without hardware changes.

With Hyundai producing several million vehicles annually, the partnership is expected to equip millions of connected cars per year with IST’s technology. The Connectivity Manager is hosted on Microsoft Azure and is GSMA-certified.
