Stellantis and Tata Motors mark 20-year partnership

FIAPL currently produces four Jeep models and three Tata Motors passenger vehicles at its Indian facility

Stellantis and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore further collaboration across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain operations in India and overseas. The agreement marks 20 years of partnership through their 50:50 joint venture, Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited (FIAPL).

FIAPL employs approximately 5,000 people and produces 222,000 vehicles annually. The joint venture has manufactured more than 1.37 million vehicles since its establishment and currently produces four Jeep models and three Tata Motors passenger vehicles.

The companies said the memorandum of understanding will explore opportunities to build on FIAPL’s capabilities in manufacturing, powertrain, and supply chain operations.

Grégoire Olivier, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis Asia Pacific, said: “FIAPL stands as a testament to what two strong organisations can achieve together.
