Mercedes-AMG tests new Mythos model in Sweden

Mercedes-AMG is conducting cold-weather testing in Sweden for the second model in its exclusive Mythos series

Mercedes-AMG is conducting cold-weather testing near the Arctic Circle in Sweden for the second model in its exclusive Mythos series, with the camouflaged vehicle based on the popular CLE series. The automaker said the frozen Scandinavian landscapes provide the backdrop for demanding tests designed to validate the performance and reliability of all components under extreme low-temperature conditions.

The Mythos series comprises limited-edition collector vehicles aimed at enthusiasts. The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed—a radical, open two-seater without a roof or windshield—was launched as the first model in the range. Mercedes-AMG said the new CLE-based model takes the concept several steps further, promising a more extreme appearance and positioning itself as a statement vehicle backed by a powerful drivetrain.

While bearing a clear resemblance to the CLE, the new model features what the automaker describes as a strikingly uncompromising presence. The cold-weather testing phase is considered crucial for validating vehicle systems before production, with components subjected to the lowest temperatures to ensure reliability.

Mercedes-AMG has not announced a timeline for the vehicle’s official reveal or provided details on production numbers, pricing or powertrain specifications. Further information is expected as the vehicle progresses through its development programme.
