Irizar e-mobility will supply 39 electric buses to Arriva for bus rapid transit services in the Netherlands
Irizar e-mobility has secured its first order in the Netherlands, with operator Arriva Personenvervoer Nederland ordering 39 electric buses for bus rapid transit services in the Oost-Brabant region. The order comprises 18 12-metre and 21 18-metre articulated Irizar ie tram units, which will operate on high-capacity routes in Tilburg and ‘s-Hertogenbosch, with delivery scheduled for December 2026.
The vehicles will be equipped with Irizar batteries offering more than 615kWh capacity and will be charged at the depot using a Combo 2 system. Features include electric and manual ramps for accessibility, interurban-style seating, and personalised driver seat position memory.

In a statement, José Antonio Sola, Global Sales Director of Irizar e-mobility, said: “This order is very important for us because it means including a new country in our portfolio and continuing to broaden and expand our electromobility solutions.”
Jan Pieter Been, Regional Director South at Arriva Netherlands, added: “They perfectly meet the needs for the busy, high-frequency city lines in Tilburg and ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Plenty of light, plenty of space, the ability to board quickly, and a distinctive, futuristic design.”
The order strengthens Irizar e-mobility’s presence in the Benelux region.
